Thame Museum has a fine collection of objects, photographs and documents related to the Thame area. These feature in both our permanent
displays and temporary exhibitions which change throughout the year.
These items which enrich and inform our visitors have been generously donated to the museum, for which we are most grateful.
Occasionally we are offered duplicate items or objects which do not have a definitive Thame connection, but which with the donorís consent, can
form part of our handling collection. These objects are a superb learning tool for education and reminiscence and very popular with groups,
who for various reasons are unable to visit the museum. If you would like more information about this collection, please contact the link below.
Pictures show a recent visit to the Haddenham Monday Club, where the audience had great fun trying on hats and clothes from the 1950s and 1960s handling collections.
The objects in our care are treated with great respect, conserved and stored in archive conditions until they are required for display or research.
If you have an item which you would like to donate to the museum, please contact us by email at
(We are unfortunately unable to take very large items owing to space restrictions.)
