Here is your chance to get to know your very own family history
Whether you are making a start with your family history,
or need advice on how to enhance your research, this is the talk for you.

Join Dr.Joan Reid, (MSc in genealogical, palaeographic and heraldic studies and a registered genealogist ) has carried out extensive research to develop her knowledge and understanding of the resources available to genealogists and family historians.
Thursday 17th July, at 7.30pm
The session will begin by introducing resources which can be used to form the starting point for research into a family. Apiece of research carried out on an individual for our recent Emergency Services Exhibition, will be used as a case study to show how some resources were utilised to develop their story.
There will be an opportunity to conduct an exercise based on your own family and to ask questions. Do bring along what you already know about your own family history to use as a starting point for your research. Suggestions on where you can find further information on resources and courses will be provided.
There will be a number of handouts for you and do bring something to write with.
The session will last an hour.
