
A new display in the shop window in reception features shoes from the museum collection. A celebration of the many shoe shops that have historically traded in Thame.
Do you remember Copes Shoe Shop at 6 Buttermarket? Do you know anyone who used to buy their shoes there before they closed their doors in the 1970s.
Martin & Silver was another well known shoe and clothing shop that closed in the 1980s, Situated in an historic mid-17th-century Grade II listed building this shop was located at 17 Buttermarket in Thame, now Clinton Cards.
