Building Stories – A trip along Thame High Street

Thame has been continously developing over the last 1000 years. Taking FIVE buildings which all featured in one guise or another, on the High Street in Thame, we continue to tell the incredible Story of Our Town.

Discover their fascinating history, via their architecture, their different functions, and more importantly learn about some of the people who lived in them, the everyday lives of families living and working in Thame through the ages.

The Five buildings comprise: The Mansion House, later becoming the Girls’ Grammar School and then The Co-op; The Town hall; the Market Hall, now the Citizens Advice Bureau; The Saracen’s Head, currently occupied by a Funeral Director, and Striblehills.
