Object of the Month – May 2023

Clear glass quart milk bottle, marked in black ‘James Holland Dairyman Thame’ with a cow illustration in an oval frame. Hollands Dairy was at the corner of Queens Road and Horton Avenue

The bottle was found in the Thame Players Theatre in Nelson Street, Thame in the 1960s and is currently on display as part of the Thame’s Unsung Heroines exhibition.

A quart is equivalent in Britain to two pints, or approximately 1.13 litres.
