Sit back and enjoy the work and stories of some of the amazing artists who helped to depict the horrors of war in this beautifullly illustrated talk by Bernadette Tildesley.

Bernadette focusses on some of the artists who were employed by the Government through the War Artists Scheme, directed by the Ministry of Information.

Many illustrious and famous painters were recruited, put into uniforms and then usually sent to France or Belgium. Amongst the artists featured are John Lavery, John Singer Sergeant, Alfred Munnings, Stanley Spencer and Paul and John Nash.
