Do you know anything about the history of the streets of Thame?
Can you help with our current research project being undertaken by some of our volunteers.

We are looking for any knowledge from Thame’s residents that can contribute to the history and origin of street names, from buildings to lampposts – every little helps!

For example do you know the origin of Michaelis Road, or Old Union Way, or Mitchell Close, or even Nelson Street? Or why several of the houses at the end of Nelson Street are named after Wiltshire villages?
If you have any information, please email us at publicity@thamemuseum.org
include your name, address, let us know how long you have lived in Thame
Or pop into the museum and tell us your story. We would love to meet you.
